The look and feel of the Server 2012 GUI is quite different than Server 2008.
Dear Spicers/Spicettes Our company has taken the step in updating its look. One of their moves is to change the company wide standard font. This font has been installed on the Citrix farm with no issues. The new letter templates have been generated and tested locally, all good. The font is rendering REALLY badly to a point that it is nearly unreadable. It is the same install used on the local development machines which all look fine.Citrix (Xen App5 running on 2K3 standard) has the fonts installed from the same installer (there is only one). The farm has the font smoothing switched (no difference to having it off! As the servers themselves are VM I can't sit at one to check if the issue is remote display or not.
I really am not sure what to do with the font (a True Type font) or any settings to stop the font display distorting.
One of the benefits of working for Dell Compellent is having the privilege to collaborate with some very smart people who are subject matter experts in areas of technology I don’t get as much time to spend time on as I’d like to.
I get to share information with team members about v Sphere, as well as Exchange, SQL, *nix, Oracle, and you might have guessed it… One of my colleagues has been working with Windows Server 2012 lately and he drew up a quick guide on some of the findings he had made.
Not only was he gracious enough to share it with his teammates, he was more than happy to share with the community when asked.
When I say community, of course I’m referring to readers of this blog.
So without further to do, here are some Windows Server 2012 (and perhaps even Windows 8) tips to get you started.
